It’s no secret that the Big Easy is known for its over-the-top parties and parades, so why would Halloween be any different? The fall holiday is famous in the city for the Krewe of BOO parade, one of the city’s favorite ways to spend Halloween. This year, the Riverwalk Outlets is hosting a Halloween event for the whole family prior to the holiday. Spend the day preparing for Halloween at the Riverwalk Outlets and finish the night with a family-friendly Halloween movie event. You’ve come to the right place for spooktacular fun! Bring the whole family together for the Riverwalk Halloween Fest at the Riverwalk outlets, the weekend before Halloween, 4 to 6 p.m., Oct. 23. Start in the food court by grabbing your favorite snacks and enjoying the live entertainment including jugglers, still walkers and face painting! Your kids will even have a chance to trick-or-treat through the outlets at participating stores. At 6 p.m, the party’s not over. Head outside to the Spanish Plaza and join us as we stream “Hocus Pocus” with popcorn and cotton candy! This event is the perfect way to get into the spooky spirit. There’s still more fun to be had in addition to the Riverwalk Halloween Fest. Checkout the Krewe of BOO events! After it initially debuted as a one-time fundraising event for Hurricane Katrina relief, the Krewe of BOO parade became a yearly tradition due to demand from residents looking for more Halloween fun. It has since become the official Halloween parade of the city, and has evolved into a whole weekend of Halloween-themed events. Party-goers can enjoy a zombie run, Monster Mash costume party, dance-off and happy hour. The parade itself displays 15 floats, 35 marching bands and has 450 riders. It’s an event you’ll remember forever. The best part? The parade rolls downtown right past the Riverwalk Outlets. Spend the day shopping at your favorite stores before jumping into the Halloween activities!
